How a Pakistani mobile number is built

A mobile number has 11 digits. The first four are the mobile code and the last seven are the subscriber's own number, as in 0300 1234567.

From outside Pakistan the leading 0 is replaced by the country code, so the same number is written +92 300 1234567.

Why the code can be out of date

Mobile number portability lets a person change operator and keep the same number. A number that began on one network may be served by another today, and its code does not change.

So the code tells you who issued the number. If a helpline says the number isn't theirs, it has probably been moved.

Own-number codes and helplines

These show the number of the SIM in your phone. Operators change codes from time to time, so confirm with your operator if one doesn't respond.

Helplines are dialled from that operator's own SIM. More ways to find your own number are on the SIM number check page.

The networks in 2026

Jazz and Warid

Warid merged into Jazz, which is why the 0320 to 0329 codes are Jazz codes today.

Telenor and Ufone

On 1 July 2026 Telenor Pakistan was formally merged into Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML), the PTCL subsidiary that runs Ufone. Both sets of customers keep their service while the networks are integrated.

ONIC

In September 2026 PTA ordered PTML to stop issuing new ONIC SIMs and eSIMs. Existing ONIC customers keep their service during a three-month transition.

SCOM

SCOM is the mobile service of the Special Communications Organization and serves Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

A code does not show the owner

The network is the only thing a code tells you. It gives no name, CNIC or address. See SIM owner details by number for what is and isn't possible.
